Michael "Mikey" Samuel Bettis

Michael Samuel “Mikey” Bettis, 41, of Whitwell, Tennessee, passed away on February 24, 2026. Born on July 4, 1984, Mikey brought a bright, unmistakable spirit into the world on a day already known for celebration. Those who knew him will remember his warmth and the unique way he touched the lives around him.

Mikey is survived by his sisters, Tracy Turner and Barbara Dean, and his brother, Johnny Bettis III, all of whom loved him deeply. He was also blessed with devoted caregivers—Sue Ann Nance, Michael Layne, and Judy Ray—whose compassion and dedication brought comfort and dignity to his life.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Louise Bettis, and his father, Johnny Floyd Bettis Jr., with whom he is now reunited.

Mikey’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
